After record-breaking rainfall and thunderstorm wreaked havoc in the Sindh provincial capital, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the federal government will be announcing a plan for a "permanent solution to the problems caused by floods by cleaning of nullahs, fixing of the sewage system and resolving the huge challenge of water supply to the people of Karachi".
At least 18 people were killed in rain-related incidents, including drowning, structural collapse, electrocution and other mishaps, in the port city on Thursday.
