Chineese Vice presmier in islamabad today to attend the 10th-Aniversery celebration of CPEC

Islamabad: Chinese Vice President He Lifeng arrived in Pakistan on Sunday to commemorate the impressive ten-year milestone of the CPEC project.

He Lifeng, Vice Premier of China and Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, has been invited by Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend the CPEC 10th anniversary festivities in Pakistan as a special gift for a staunch partner.

On his first visit, the Chinese dignitary arrived on a Sunday evening. The interior minister Rana Sanaullah, the minister of planning and development Ahsan Iqbal, the unique assistant for foreign affairs Tariq Fatemi, and the Chinese charge d'affaires Pang Chunxue welcomed him.

Along Constitution Avenue, the capital was awash in structures lit with the two countries' respective national flags: green and red. Additionally, the President's House was glowing in similar hues.

Pakistan views this visit, which reflects the importance attached by Pakistan and China, as an opportunity to further their "All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership", reaffirm support on issues of each other's core interests, enhance economic and financial cooperation, advance the high-quality development of CPEC, and explore new avenues for strengthening trade and investment ties between the two countries.

In the meantime, the Islamabad district magistrate announced that all public and private schools, colleges and institutions, private businesses, markets and stores, and commercial banks will be closed on Monday, July 31, and Tuesday, August 1.

Invitations were sent to the prime minister, the four provincial governors, the chief ministers, the chiefs of the armed forces, the speaker of the National Assembly, the chairman of the Senate, and the heads of the constitutional institutions so they could take part in the 10-year celebrations of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
