Electricity tariff increased by Rs4.85 per unit


The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved an increase of Rs4.85 per unit in the price of electricity in connection with monthly fuel adjustment charges for February. 

The Nepra issued a notice in this regard on Friday. The raise will be applicable on the electricity bill for the month of April only. It will be applied to all consumers of the Discos except lifeline and K Electric consumers.

The CPPA had sought an increase of Rs4.94 per unit. Before that in January, Rs5.94 per unit were charged from consumers in connection with monthly fuel adjustment charges.
